ISO certification has been proven to pay for itself. We’ve shared numerous guides and our own client stories to show how ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 27001 and OHSAS 18001 can help to bring greater efficiency and increased competitiveness to businesses.
Despite this, we understand it can still sometimes be a step into the unknown and, in the short term, is a significant cost when there’s just as many other areas in your business that make a good case for investment. Even if you’re ready to make that step, you also need to make sure you’ve chosen the right Certification Body to work with – one that provides the level of service and support you need; with no nasty surprises along the way.
Below are the top 5 reasons why 1000s of organisations, of all types and sizes, choose to work with the British Assessment Bureau every year.
1. AWARD-WINNING SERVICE
Claiming that you provide excellent service is one thing, but proving it is another! It’s our aim to be recognised as the most customer-focused Certification Body. To ensure we’re achieving this, we carry out an annual Client Satisfaction Survey to monitor our ongoing performance.
We also use an independent customer service feedback system where clients can give their anonymous feedback at various stages of the process. Over the last 5 years, we’ve successfully averaged a 4.8/5* recommendation rating (previously 99%). In 2016, Feefo awarded us with the status of Gold Trusted Merchant, setting us apart from competition.
2. FULL TRANSPARENCY
Quite simply, what you see is what you get. For anyone new to the world of ISO, it can be difficult to determine what is a fair deal. That’s why we quote a fixed fee for the entire certification process; so you know exactly what you’ll be paying.
Unlike other Certification Bodies, we don’t charge for travel, hotels or any other hidden charges/expenses. There’s also no ‘annual management fees’ to make our quotes seem cheaper than they are. We do this by employing all our Auditors, all over the country; so we don’t need to outsource the work.
3. GUARANTEED CERTIFICATION
Gaining certification consists of two visits from your local Assessor. The first visit (Stage 1 Audit) establishes where your business is now, so you have an action plan moving forward. Our Account Management team will then be by your side to ensure you get to the formal Stage 2 Audit as quickly as possible, so you can start shouting about your certification.
We see getting you to your Stage 2 Audit as our responsibility, so if you were to fail your certification audit for any reason, you won’t be charged a penny more for a re-audit.
Over 90% of our clients achieve certification first time with no prior experience or outside assistance!

4. PRE-EMINENT STATUS
With over 40 years’ experience in the industry, we’ve built up a reputation as leaders in the measurement, testing and monitoring of people, services and organisations. In 1997, we applied to have our pre-eminence formally recognised via a corporate name change. Following a rigorous application process, our status was officially recognised by the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry, allowing us to use ‘British’ in our name.
Today our clients can proudly show they’ve had their credentials independently verified by a leading Certification Body through the use of our Certification Mark – helping them to make the best possible impression to their clients, staff and suppliers.
Many would argue that, most importantly, we’re a UKAS accredited Certification Body, meaning we’re able to offer our clients the highest level of certification, which is backed by government. It’s important to learn the importance of working with a UKAS accredited body.
5. STAGED PAYMENTS
Most of our clients are SMEs, and we recognise that cash flow is king. As such, we split our quotations down into 3 interest free payments.
Unlike other Certification Bodies, we won’t force you into long-term contracts – we’d rather let our service do the talking, and trust that will be enough to encourage you to renew each year.
