News13/10/2008 - Small Business Week Discount
Monday 13th October saw the launch of Small Business Week 2008, a week-long campaign dedicated to championing the 4.3million-plus small enterprises in the UK. To support the campaign, the British Assessment Bureau is offering 10% off ISO certification rates to small businesses with under £1M turnover and/or under 10 employees. The offer will apply until 31/10/2008. The annual campaign, which will begin with a launch event at BT Tower, brings together small businesses from across the country, independent business organisations, Government agencies, regional influencers and media and aims to better understand the small business community, provoke debate around its changing needs, and develop ways to further its long-term success. In its inaugural year, Small Business Week provoked unprecedented debate among, and wholehearted support from, business organisations, government, suppliers, the media, analysts, and small businesses themselves. Drawing on the feedback from last year’s campaign and bearing in mind today’s current economic and political climate, the theme for Small Business Week 2008 is “mentoring”. This theme will be explored via a series of events and research analysis. Small Business Week 2008 will help to recognise the importance of this sector to the UK economy, will share perspectives on the state of the small business nation, and will explore what SMEs need in order to survive and thrive in today and tomorrow’s business world. Our reputation was established in 1965 as a division of Salford University Business Services. In 1997, the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry approved the use of the word 'British' in our new corporate title in recognition of our pre-eminent status. Today, our core business is the assessment of people, services and
organisations. We certify organisations to the latest ISO standards and
design and manage bespoke assessment schemes. Such schemes are based on
the establishment of standards, which can be developed to be recognised
company-wide, industry-wide, nationally or internationally. |
