News10/12/2008 - Tender Opportunities for the London 2012 Games
Supply2Gov and other bodies have launched the new CompeteFor website, allowing businesses to tender for contracts associated with London's 2012 Olympics Games. The Games will provide a tremendous opportunity for the businesses in the UK, with over 50,000 contracts being procured through the supply chain and related work. CompeteFor hope to build a business network and brokerage service that develops and grows throughout the delivery of the 2012 Games and set a precedent for the future. They are also hoping to facilitate the development of UK businesses by promoting links into the business support network, allowing a wide range of diverse businesses to benefit from London 2012 investment. As with all tender opportunities, it is important for businesses to stand out from the crowd. To compete in an environment such as the CompeteFor scheme, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 are becoming increasingly prevalent in order to differentiate from the competition. Certification to such ISO standards also has benefits to businesses outside of winning tenders, like improving efficiency, reducing costs and enhanced customer service. Our reputation was established in 1965 as a division of Salford University Business Services. In 1997, the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry approved the use of the word 'British' in our new corporate title in recognition of our pre-eminent status. Today, our core business is the assessment of people, services and
organisations. We certify organisations to the latest ISO standards and
design and manage bespoke assessment schemes. Such schemes are based on
the establishment of standards, which can be developed to be recognised
company-wide, industry-wide, nationally or internationally. |
