Businesses looking to implement ISO 9001:2015 often choose the standard due to the benefits that follow. From impressing existing clients, to winning more new business, certified organisations are able achieve operational excellence as a result.
This was no different for Rousant Sherwood, as their Quality Manager Matthew Haines explained why he was – and still is – a keen supporter of ISO 9001;
“ISO  certification allows the company to expand its customer base and to increase existing customer satisfaction.”
With a strong reputation – that will only improve as they take on more work – it was key for business that they have a reliable quality management system in place, with robust processes.
Once Matthew identified they should achieve certification to ISO 9001, he had to choose a credible certification body to be audited by. He explained his reasons for choosing BAB;
“BAB are highly competitive with their pricing, and their prompt and friendly communication made them stand out even further.”
Rousant Sherwood were new to ISO 9001, but took it in their stride – sailing through the process in just 3 months! They remained in contact with their Assessor throughout, and knew that their dedicated Account Manager was at the end of the phone whenever they were needed.
“The process was straightforward, helpful and was supported by an experienced Assessor throughout the process. We worked with the feedback gained from the Stage 1 Audit, which allowed us to pass the Stage 2 Audit without any minor or major non-conformities.”
“The audit was constructive and led by an experienced Auditor who understood our industry.”
When asked what his highlight of the ISO experience was, Matthew explained it was the ease of the process and the excellent level of communication;
“The ease at which the entire process flowed was the highlight. Whether that was the audit itself, or communication with BAB from Stage 1 to Stage 2. We were kept informed and updated throughout.”

As their main aim of gaining certification was to increase their customer base and improve customer satisfaction, it was a real victory that Rousant Sherwood began to see immediate dividends as a result of certification to ISO 9001:2015. Matthew went on to say;
“Within two weeks of becoming certified [to ISO 9001:2015], we had already been contacted by potential customers; which could see an increase in income.”
Matthew concluded with another business benefit the organisation is already experiencing, only a few weeks after ISO 9001:2015 certification was officially awarded;
“We have also seen an improvement in meeting the requirements of our existing customers and increasing their satisfaction levels.”
