Following our update in July, we are delighted to announce that we now hold UKAS accreditation for ISO 27001: the Information Security Management standard.
UKAS accredited certification will provide additional credibility for our clients who hold or are seeking ISO 27001 certification with us. This is particularly important in government tender situations, where the likes of the Ministry of Defence and the NHS demand that such certificates have the coveted ‘Crown and Tick’ UKAS symbol on them.
Keith Goddard, Head of Certification Services, commented;
“We are delighted to be able to offer UKAS accredited certificates for ISO 27001. We are one of a small number of Certification Bodies accredited to this standard; the latest ISO 27001:2013 revision. Whilst fantastic for our own credentials, accredited status is also of great benefit to our clients where certification is crucial in fulfilling supply chain requirements.”
Over the past 12 months, growth in ISO 27001 certification has been particularly strong, especially in the IT sector. With the world moving online, the importance of demonstrating security of information has become vital. ISO 27001 certification has stepped in as a way for organisations to show that they can deliver more than just their word; their credentials have been verified by an independent and trusted third party.
Rob Fenn, Marketing Director, commented on the ISO 27001 standard’s future;
“In recent years, information security blunders have hit the headlines on a regular basis. ISO 27001 allows organisations of all shapes and sizes to demonstrate that they take information security – and their client’s reputations – seriously. We expect demand for ISO 27001 to continue to grow strongly as it becomes a de facto supply chain requirement, in the same way that the well-established ISO 9001 quality management standard has.”
