ISO 14001:2015 has begun!

Following our announcement in November that we received our accreditation by UKAS to the new ISO 9001:2015 standard, we are pleased to announce we have begun the same process with the updated ISO 14001:2015 environmental management standard.

The latest version of ISO 14001 last updated in 2004 – follows ISO 9001:2015 in using ISO’s new common structure, designed to make their standards easier to integrate and work with.

Incorporating the same strengthened requirements on leadership and strategic involvement, ISO 14001:2015 also puts greater emphasis on reducing environmental impacts across the whole lifecycle of products and services.

The UKAS accreditation process involves an audit at our Head Office, followed by witnessed assessments. Currently this begins in January 2016 with all assessments being completed by mid March 2016.

With the ISO 14001:2015 standard itself already published, it can now be purchased in order to review the new requirements in full. Existing clients can take advantage of our Gap Analysis audit at their next Surveillance visit, which allows clients to identify what opportunities there are ahead of making the transition to the new version.
