ISO Consultancy in Summary

  • Get help in maintaining your ISO management system
  • Get transition support for ISO 9001:2015 & ISO 14001:2015
  • Consultants can help you get more value out of your systems

If you feel you require more hands-on help, a consultant can provide the skills and resource to help implement and manage your ISO management system, whilst we can be on hand to perform your certification audits as a UKAS accredited Certification Body.

The credibility of the certificates we issue is paramount, and we must remain impartial. As such, we cannot directly offer consultancy ourselves, but can provide the details of consultants who have a history in assisting our clients in successfully achieving and maintaining certification – as well as help with transitioning to the latest 2015 iterations of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.

Our register has specialist consultants in all areas of the UK covering ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 27001, OHSAS 18001 and more.

Finding a consultant you can trust isn’t easy. Save time by getting in touch with us today.

ISO Consultancy in Summary

Process Process

A CONSULTANT HAS TO BE A GOOD FIT WITH YOUR ORGANISATION. BELOW ARE OUR SUGGESTED STEPS ON CHOOSING ONE.

STEP 1 – DECIDE REQUIREMENTS

Be clear on what you do and don’t need. Some consultants aim to empower you to manage your own system with a little training, whilst others expect to be in your offices on a weekly basis. It’s therefore important to ring-fence your requirements so costs do not spiral out of control – consultancy fees can easily exceed the cost of certification.

STEP 2 – GET IN TOUCH

Once you have decided on the level of support you need, get in touch with BAB for a shortlist of ISO consultants. We can provide a list based upon their industry knowledge, the standards they specialise in, as well as their proximity to your business. Whilst we cannot endorse, the consultants will have worked with BAB clients previously.

STEP 3 – AGREE ON COSTS

Most consultants will ask for a preliminary meeting with you to carry out a ‘Gap Analysis’. This meeting will highlight gaps between your current set up and the ISO standard. It will also determine the level of support you need. We strongly recommend you talk to more than one consultant to compare their approach and pricing.

STEP 4 – WORKING WITH BAB

We often work alongside consultants and recognise the additional value they can provide our clients. Consultants regularly compliment us on our pragmatic approach to auditing, as well as our useful tools, such as the Transition Gap Analysis service, which helps clients move to the new 2015 versions of ISO’s standards without the stress.

Costs Costs

BEFORE ENGAGING YOUR CONSULTANT, IT’S IMPERATIVE THAT YOU AGREE COSTS AND PAYMENT TERMS.

HOW MUCH WILL IT COST?

That depends on what you need! Most consultants will visit, free of charge, to assess what you require to meet the standard and provide you with a written quote. Be prepared for consultancy to cost more than the cost of certification.

WHAT ELSE DO I HAVE TO BUDGET FOR?

If you also require certification, or ongoing audits, we can provide you with a Guaranteed Fixed Fee quote for that. We don’t charge for travel or anything else, but some consultants do – makes sure you check the details before committing.
